CollectiveX provides community websits for social or business networking, as a company intranet, or as a tool for connecting individuals who share similar interests or are focusing on a common goal. You could compare them to Yahoo! groups, but they are much better and more sophisticated. You could also compare them to a SharePoint portal, but they are much easier and inexpensive than that. They combine the best features of discussion forums, email lists, calendars and social networks. They are FREE to setup, and can be configured to be public, semi-public, or private and secure. Sites are currently ad-supported, but for a small monthly fee you can make the ads go away.
The company currently has a partnership with Monster.com.
